Fonts and Font Sizes (Apps - App Styling - General Styling/Custom Color Palette)

You can set the Font and Font size to be used for your app in the App Settings area (Apps) area under the App Styling - General Styling tab.

Use the build button at the end of each option to change the:
  • Default Font, Font size, Bold and Italic settings for the main body text in the App

  • Default Font, Font size, Bold and Italic settings for the main menu text in the App

  • Default Font, Font size, Bold and Italic settings for the title text in the App

The Build button will display the screen shown here. It is important to note that not all devices will support all fonts. As a result app developers should include the font they want to use and then, after a comma separator, include the common or known default font(s) for a device, which will be used if the selected font is not available on the particular device that the app is running on.

If no new fonts are selected Evoke will use the default fonts for each device type and the "set to default" button will reset the font list to these.
There are many font options and therefore default font styles are added by typing the font name in to the beginning of the list of font styles and adding a comma separator. Typical examples are shown on the first screen on this page.
The default font size and font style can be set for each operating system (and therefore device type) therefore separate areas to set the default font style and font size are included for desktop, Android and ios.

The Bold and Italic settings are used to set if the text should be either bold or italic.

If you want to change the font Style/font size for just a single page or single segment/piece of data then setup a new custom color in your custom color palette.
You are then able to set up a new font size/font style override for this color, in exactly the same way as above, using the build button.

This custom color is then applied to the segment, in the colors tab in Pages as if you were just setting a custom color but the font override settings are also applied in addition to the color.

In this way individual prompts, text, etc can be reset to a different font style or size.

It is recommended that care and consideration be given when resetting the default font sizes.

The following example screen from the Evoke Example demonstration app has been created using the default font settings at the top of this screen, namely Times New Roman for the body text with a font size of 15, Broadway for the Main menu with a font size of 18 and Elephant for the title with a font size of 18.
While the screen looks fun this is not always appreciated by app users.
