Tips on Finding Generator Warnings and Errors
As with all computer software finding the errors and warnings in your design is an art rather than a science! However, there are many features in Evoke to help you.
This section of the help explores some of the ways Evoke can help you find the warnings and errors that you might see in your designs.
Identify the location of the error
Evoke App Design warnings and errors often include "[Page Series: XXXX, Page: xxxx, Page Segment Guid: XAXAXA]" followed by an error message. This is the first guide to finding the warnings or error guiding you to the Page Series, the Page and the segment that the error relates to. A very detailed explanation of how to find the Sgement GUID using the UI "List Mode" or "search for segment GUID" options is available at UI Design Menu page.
View warnings and errors throughout Evoke
As is shown in the animation on the right (as with all images in this help - please click on the image to make it full page) any warnings or errors identified in the app design generation setion can be reviewed anywhere in Evoke. If you have an error or warning that indictaes ""[Page Series: XXXX, Page: xxxx, Page Segment Guid: XAXAXA]" then you can go to that Page Series and Page in the Evoke designer and use the menu top right to view the generator errors.
There is a further menu option (at the end of each warning or error) that, where appropriate i.e. the error relates to a specific segment, allows the page designer to go directly to the segement with the error. In some cases this will require the UI display to be in "list mode" and you may need to ensure the UI display is list mode if this feature does not jump directly to the segment.
Ghost error conditions
If you have reviewed and genuinely cannot understand why an error is occuring then please try refreshing (reloading) the app design as this can occasionally clear am error condition that has persisted in the internal browser of Evoke.
